Mission Statement

We are committed at Glenburn Elementary School to a student-centered learning environment. This environment will foster a sense of challenge, a love for learning, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to better oneself both academically and personally.

Our mission is to set and maintain standards of excellence which will enable our youth to read, write, think, compute, comprehend, and reason.

Our purpose is to promote an atmosphere of awareness which will expose students to mathematics, the sciences, the humanities and the arts in a manner which whets the appetite and causes a quest for further understanding.

Our goal is for youth to develop within themselves a sense of community, a sense of responsibility, a sense of pride, a sense of respect for property, and a sense of respect for self and others.

Glenburn School Vision

The center of education is the child. Think of the child in educational growth, as a seed within an apple. Each seed is an individual, deversified learner. Moving outward, the core represents curriculum, high expectations and assessment. This provides an environment for the student to become a self-directed, disciplined and life long learner. The apple's pulp nourishes the student through the efforts of all stakeholders, utilizing technology, teaching strategies, and resources. Encircling all parts is the peel, which is the safe school environment. This provides a positive, risk-taking climate, where all feel respected, valued, and safe. The stem connects community and school. Together, clear policies with defined expectations will produce academic and personal excellence for each individual.
